MASPE zero
Breathe, Sleep, Look and Feel Better without Teeth Gaps!
Breathe Better
MASPE zero expands the palate and nasal airway. It improves nasal breathing and creates a "DOME-shaped" palate.
Sleep Better
Improved nasal breathing and airway performance means more deep restorative sleep and less tossing, turning and snoring.
Feel Better
People who sleep better, feel better. MASPE zero results in a comfortable bite with less teeth clenching and jaw tension.
How MASPE Zero Works
MASPE zero creates a larger “DOME-shaped” space in the palate. The DOME concept was invented by Dr. Stanley Liu who recognized that people with a “DOME-shaped” palate (vs a high-vaulted palate) have larger nasal airways, more tongue space and that they breathe better and sleep better.
MASPE zero uses Dr. Claudia Pinter’s experience and expertise in planning and synchronizing bone-level palatal expansion and clear aligner orthodontics. MASPE zero is the first airway focused treatment to deliver simultaneous expansion and orthodontic results into a complete patient solution without getting large teeth gaps.
The MASPE zero protocol involves identifying myofunctional problems such as tongue, lip and cheek ties (aka tethered oral tissues). MASPE zero incorporates Dr. Gary Adams’ understanding about how orofacial myofunctional problems can contribute to breathing problems, facial asymmetries and cranial-facial underdevelopment. Diagnosing and treating tethered oral tissues is critical to achieving balanced cranial-facial development, optimal head and tongue posture and preventing orthodontic relapse.
MASPE zero creates a DOME-shaped palate, delivers a beautiful smile, and aligns the teeth at the same time. But more than that, MASPE zero is a protocol that helps people breathe better, sleep better, feel better and smile better. MASPE zero involves:
- “Screws-first” customized bandless MASPE expander. Bandless expanders are small and usually allow for tongue suction and palatal posture.
- Clear aligners move the teeth at the same time the expansion is getting done. Large Palate and No Large Gaps.
- Myofunctional Therapy to strengthen and train the muscles in the airway and tongue. Tongue posture needs to be lightly suctioned onto the palate or the airway will still obstruct.
- Diagnosis and release of tethered oral tissues, including tongue ties, lip ties and buccal ties. The musculature can be the root cause of why our jaws, teeth and faces did not grow correctly to begin with and why we are not breathing properly and clenching our teeth now. TOTs can also contribute to facial asymmetries and head, neck and jaw tension.
- Neutral bite alignment in harmony with the TMJ.
